Hair Extension Classes

My classes are for licensed cosmetologists, salons, and beauty schools only.

The classes are for various methods of hair extensions. My teaching is advanced and goes well beyond the basics if you can keep up. I will go over the pros and cons of different name brands, when and when not to use each one. You will learn how I customize my methods according to the needs of the clients. You will learn my exclusive method of color matching and blending for complete match of color and hair textures.

Choosing the right hair.

Matching the color and texture in a very detailed manner to achieve perfect blending.

Pros and cons of different kinds of hair extensions and brand names.

Scientific overview of hair and processing of hair extension hair and what that means to you.

Scientific and technical overview of the various types of adhesives, glues, and Keratins used in hair extension.

The tools of the trade, from ancient tied and true tools to bran new state of the art technology. They are all still relevant.

Hair coloring with hair extensions.

How to do the consultation.

Hair extension placement. Where to add hair, why, what size, benefits of different placement patterns, and how to customize.

Cutting and styling of hair extension. This is completely different than the way we usually cut and style without hair extensions.

Care and maintenance. How to handle hair with hair extensions.

How to remove hair extensions as safely as possible. Information about the different products used.

Products. Pros and cons of quality. I will give you lists of where and how to get the products you need.

Advanced classes will teach how further customize color blends, more cutting and styling, and hands on instruction to get you to develop a systematic way to make all the bonds perfect each time and to improve speed without compromising quality. This is the majority of you time spent on a client and should be a very well honed skill.

The classes will conform to students specifics needs. Some students may already do extensions but want to learn more and become better. Beginners may need to start at square one. Remember, I can only give you knowledge, not experience. I offer different levels of the class. I have two certificates that you can achieve. One is certificate of completion. The other is a certificate of mastery. This may take times in the classes to achieve.

I will not teach any sort of time saving or shortcut tricks. My aim is to protect the long term health of a clients hair. I will push for technical perfection because without it, it could result in client hair damage. My class may not be easy.

Prices

To make it easy, the prices are $1,500.00 per day, whether private lesson, a group, or a salon. If you can't share costs with a group or salon, you may contact me to be added to classes forming. Remember, the bigger the class size, the less one on one each student will have.

Classes out of town require a three day minimum.

For ethnic and caucasian methods requires a two day minimum.

It's my opinion that no two day class will make anyone completely competent to master hair extensions. There is s high level of dexterity that must be mastered and can only be achieved through practice. My suggestion is to take the class. Then gain some experience by practicing on a few heads and then take a more advanced level class to go over your specific needs and areas you want to improve on. This way you will know what they are.

I do not have any openings for apprenticeship trainees at this time. I may in the future.
